Today, we will be taking a closer look at the Lab products from EMBER: Obsidian Protocol. This production line offers a distinct range of items, and we have the privilege of hearing from the Devs about the inspiration and thought process behind them.
Q: What are these hand models that we can see?
A: These are "RDL fixed-posed hands" from our Lab product line.
Q: What was the reason behind creating these fixed-posed hands?
A: Our mass-produced products (Corebox, Cavalry, and Heavy Metal) include various hand parts. However, we realized that the existing hand models lacked diversity for players who wanted to pose their models in different ways. To meet the demands of these players, we started producing more styles of fixed-posed hands.
Q: Can you provide specific examples of the different styles?
A: Certainly! In our Lab fixed-posed hands, we have introduced a new fist pose. Unlike the mass-produced version, we have increased the space in the center of the fist, allowing it to hold the grip of a firearm or simulate the action of drawing a sword from the shoulder. Another example is a fully open palm pose, with a flat palm that can be used to support large firearms requiring two hands or to stabilize a railgun near the shoulder. Additionally, we have prepared some interesting hand gestures, giving additional flexibility for players to pose their mecha.
Q: Are there any limitations in creating these gestures?
A: Currently, there are no limitations. The finger modeling of our posed hands has three segments, just like a human finger. In theory, any gesture that a human can make can be presented and produced by our model in 3D software.
Q: That's great. Is there support for players to submit custom designs?
A: Unfortunately, we do not have plans for that at the moment.
Q: How do you plan to sell these posed hands?
A: We plan to sell two packages of fixed-posed hands, divided into Package A and Package B. Each package will include 7 pairs of hands.

Q: When can we expect to get these hands?
A: The estimated international shipping time for our products is around April, and pre-sale is expected to start around March. Considering that the price of the posed hand package is low, the shipping cost would be relatively high if purchased separately. Therefore, we plan to ship it together with the RDL mass-produced products.
For players in China, we expect to start pre-sale around February and ship around March.
Q: You mentioned that the posed hands are part of the Lab products. Can you explain again what Lab products are?
A: The Lab series products are a collection of our small-scale production products, which are different from our mass-produced product line. Lab products do not have specific type restrictions. They can be complete mecha, modification parts to enhance the battlefield atmosphere or special mecha parts.
Q: What are the differences in craftsmanship between the Lab series and mass-produced products?
A: Lab products will not be processed using hard plastic injection molding. Currently, the main production process for Lab products is 3D printing with resin.
However, Lab products may transition to the hard plastic production line in the future.
Q: Can Lab products be used in tabletop gaming?
A: Yes, we require all Lab products to meet the standards of tabletop gaming. For those mecha and parts, we will also provide statistics as official guidance..
Q: Besides the posed hands, is there any other interesting Lab product information that you can share?
A: Absolutely! For example, we are developing a "broken leg" model base that can be used to display the wreckage of a leg after being destroyed. Players can use it to create some devastating battlefield scenes or represent a destroyed leg part.
Additionally, we are also preparing some special equipment for the brand-new RDL squadron. You may see from our latest update.
