Ask the Dev: Gear Up with Geji and Mallard

Hello Everyone,

We would like to introduce you to the effect parts kits also known as “conversion kits” for the upcoming side story pack “Stop-Loss”. These conversion kits allow players to transform their standard RDL model into two specific teams that will appear in the side story: Geji and Mallard.

In the accompanying pictures, you will see that the 3D models of the parts are rendered in two colors. The gray parts represent the RDL's basic parts from the existing RDL packs (Core, Calvary, and Heavy Metal), while the orange parts are the conversion kits that modify the original parts.

These conversion kits consist of 3D printed parts, and the side story pack also includes part cards for the converted parts. These cards have different attributes, providing players with a wider range of parts and strategies to choose from.

The first kit available is the Enhanced Mire, which upgrades a regular Mire into the Geji Squadron variant. This includes several enhancements, such as an improved Mire Core with advanced scouting and communication abilities. Additionally, it features a standardized lower limb with a unique shape, an AC32 shotgun attachment, and a left arm designed to be freehand. Geji Squadron members do not carry "choppers" as they prefer engaging in long-range combat.

To further enhance its firepower, the Geji Squadron's iconic quad missile launcher is mounted on the back of the Enhanced Mire.

Inside the picture, the antenna on the left shoulder snapped off a lot during testing, but I really want to keep it, so I'm considering replacing it with a copper rod.

The second kit is the Geji Squadron Leader conversion kit, which transforms a standard Dune Core into a specialized variant. This kit replaces the standard lower limb with an auxiliary arm lower limb, specifically designed to hold the powerful AC35 sniper rifle. In addition, it retains the Geji Squadron's iconic quad missile launcher, allowing for maximum long-range attack capabilities.

This auxiliary arm-type lower limb can be used to trigger a weapon's two-handed phrase in-game, and I know it's a bit weird to use this to trigger a melee weapon's two-handed phrase, but given the clarity of the rules...

The third is the conversion kit for the Mallard's vanguard. This unit features dual pile drivers and dual pistols, highlighting its design focused on high mobility and close-quarters combat, giving it a distinct UN-like feel. As an elite squad, the Mallards are equipped with special combat cores, and their data backpacks are specifically designed for special missions.

By the way, while it may look like a giant HDD, in EMBER's worldview, inside this data storage device is a specially designed magnetic tape.

The fourth mech, known as the "Bomber Duck" or "Bomber Mallard," stands out due to its specialized knuckle-head on its dual shotguns. This unique feature provides the mech with exceptional flexibility, allowing it to seamlessly transition between close-range barrages and powerful melee attacks.

These shotgun attack heads work against mechs, they are very, very hard and reinforce the structure of the shotgun itself when added.

The fifth mech, known as the "Scout Duck," serves as the Mallard Squad's supporter. It is equipped with the renowned Aurora Modified Core and features a drop-type Scout Drone called "the Eyes of the Mallard." This Scout Drone will play a crucial role in the upcoming side story.

The five conversion kits mentioned above are set to be released in February/March, along with the side-story "Stop Loss" and its corresponding battle story packs.

These packs will give players the opportunity to assume the roles of either "Mallard" or "Geji" and witness their exceptional "negotiation" skills on the Lunar's surface, even if both sides belong to the RDL faction.
